A vape shop located in Henderson, West Auckland, was burgled on Friday night, resulting in staff members being held captive by a group of knife-wielding masked teenagers. The staff is still in shock, especially the lone female staff who was with them during the robbery. The attackers had weapons such as a knife, screwdriver, and a hammer. The offenders took a large amount of vape products and personal belongings such as mobile phones. Thankfully though, the authorities were able to capture two suspects, aged 15 and 19 respectively while they were fleeing from the site of the burglary. The owner, Naresh Kumar, who also owns several other vape shops in Auckland and Hamilton, said that they were cautiously finishing up for the night when the robbers targeted them. The crew was locked in a storage room and robbed while the burglars stole various items. Close to $35,000 worth of vape products were stolen from the store. It was the first time the Henderson store was attacked since opening in February. The 15-year-old suspect appeared in court on Saturday, while the 19-year-old suspect will face the Waitākere District Court on Monday.
