Police in two more Massachusetts communities were investigating incidents targeting vape shops. Surveillance video obtained by NewsCenter 5 shows two incidents that occurred in Woburn and Saugus on early Thursday morning. Police in Woburn said on Tuesday morning, the day after Christmas, a burglary occurred at a vape store, the windows of the store smashed by a rock, with an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise taken. On early Thursday morning, police said a second Woburn vape shop was targeted, also by smashing a glass door with a rock. Surveillance video from outside the New Edge Smoke & Vape shop on Main Street shows five people throwing objects at the storefront. Woburn police said the group was unable to get into the store and nothing was discovered to be missing.Approximately an hour later, thieves targeted the Vapor Zone on Broadway in Saugus. Surveillance video shows the apparent teenagers were in and out of the Saugus vape shop in under a minute, but caused about $2,000 in damage to the storefront and stole about $1,500 worth of T-shirts, backpacks and vape items.The incidents occurred approximately 10 miles apart from each other.The incidents come as Framingham police search for five people who broke into a smoke shop in the city on the morning after Christmas. In that incident, police believe five juvenile-aged youths broke the front window of the shop with a rock.Surveillance video released by police shows the group entering the store and stealing items.Woburn police asked anyone with information about the break-in on Tuesday and attempted break-in on Thursday to give them a call.
