It has been a hugely difficult year for the retail and hospitality industries, with Government-enforced coronavirus restrictions forcing businesses to close for long periods and operate under strict conditions.
This means numerous businesses have been put on the market, and shops that were already up for sale have struggled to find new owners.
In the Taunton area there’s a diverse range of establishments up for grabs, from restaurants to vape shops.
We’ve rounded up five shops currently up for sale in the Taunton area.
Mattancherry, Station Road
Mattancherry on Station Road is up for sale for £395,000.
The popular Indian restaurant is located in an attractive red brick building with a large domed window on the first floor.
An advertisement for the business reads: “The premises has been the subject of a recent re-brand and make over with a contemporary design that could easily be adapted to suit another type of concept such as cafe/deli/restaurant style of operation.
“The business could be purchased retaining the current tenants so there would be an instant or faultless transition between the previous owners and the purchaser.
“Alternatively, the business could be bought and changed into another restaurant as there are a number of other Indian restaurants in Taunton.”
